Maternity and Parental Leave etc. Regulations 1999. 52 weeks' leave (26 ordinary, 26 additional), a compulsory 2 weeks after birth, and the employer must respond within 28 days of being notified confirming the expected return date. Statutory Maternity Pay is payable for up to 39 weeks where the employee qualifies.
